Safe Harbor is a scheme that allows US companies to register their intentions to comply with a set of rules agreed with the EU Commission and enforced by the Federal Trade Commission by fines. By registering, the company can have personal data transferred to them from within the EEA as a way of meeting the adequacy requirements of the Eight Principle.
